I have one more pumpkin project for you all! This one using vinyl and my Cricut Machine. When I purchased the paper mache pumpkins, I also bought this faux pumpkin from Michael’s. It’s been sitting in my basement waiting for me to figure out what I was going to do with it. Amy and I generally try to do projects that don’t require a lot of special equipment, so almost anyone can accomplish the same project, with their own twist of course. But this faux pumpkin was just screaming for vinyl!

I have had a Cricut machine* for quite a few years now. I have a couple of Halloween cartridges and some left over vinyl that we used for a past project . So that’s the direction I decided to use on this easy DIY vinyl decal pumpkin project.
I started with the October 31st cartridge and cut out the haunted house at a size 5 with medium speed and medium pressure. My blade was on 6. My blade stayed on 6 and my pressure and speed also remained on medium for all the cutting I did. Next I cut the spider web and spider on size 3, gently placing each piece on the pumpkin just for placement purposes. (I did not press any of the pieces onto the pumpkin in case I wanted to rearrange them.) Then I cut the gate on size 4. But it was too big to put the whole fence on each side of the house. So I cut it into two sections omitting the middle of the fence and attached a piece of the fence to either side of the house. Then I used the Cricut cartridge Ornamental Iron 2* and cut out the word BOO. Once I had the placement of all my pieces just where I wanted them. I pressed down firmly to adhere the vinyl to the pumpkin.
If you have a Cricut, the options for decorating your pumpkin are only limited by the cartridges you have and your imagination. If you do this project, I would really love to see the designs you come up with! You can send us an email, or share a picture on our Facebook page!

I love how this turned out Vicki! It’s the perfect mix of cute and spooky! I love how you included what cartridges you used so it makes it easy to make sure you have all the necessary tools! I can not wait to get my Cameo (I’ve heard Cricut is awesome too but since hubby buys he gets to pick) for Christmas so I can start making cute things like this!

Vicki this looks awesome!!! I don’t have a cricut but every time I see a great project it makes me wish I did. Wonderful job 🙂

Thank you Vicki and Jennifer! If I have thanked you already, I apologize. Haha, Amy is much better at this part of the blog than me. I think I have been thanking people several times. I get a email and respond to that, then I respond here and Amy explained that the email is just a notification that someone commented here. Ugg technology! But please know we appreciate you both!

Hi Vicky & Amy. I found your blog because Amy commented on one of my posts! Adorable blog you have here! I love this vinyl decal pumpkin. Cool Idea. I work at a graphics company and we have a commercial vinyl cutter so I might try this on that machine! 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration! Glad we were connected through the link party. I actually went to elementary school with Nicole from Meet the Bs – That’s how I know her blog 🙂
p.s. I like the way you do your affiliate link disclosure. I might try something similar on my baby blog.

This turned out so nice. I wish I had a Cricut Machine. Maybe I could make a stencil and paint something like this. Maybe someday I will find the time. Thanks for the great idea!

This is so cute! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I am starting to convince myself that I need a cricut in my life just so I can do cute projects like these, especially with the halloween holiday creeping right around the corner.
